About HeadNorth

HeadNorth was founded in 2006 by Eric Northbrook and his wife Denise shortly after a motorcycle accident severed Eric’s spinal cord at the T-7 vertebra, paralyzing him from the chest down. Eric and Denise’s vision has been to help improve the availability of essential resources required by individuals and families affected by a spinal cord injury (SCI).

Through programs, resources, peer support and financial assistance, HeadNorth helps survivors and their families as they face the daily challenges of living with a SCI and paralysis. HeadNorth provides not only immediate assistance, but also HOPE for the future. We are dedicated to finding a cure for paralysis through our commitment to fund pre-clinical research studies.

Our support of this research will one day mean new possibilities for those living with a SCI. With approximately 3,000 SCI survivors in San Diego County, coupled with new injuries each day, the need for our critical services continues to grow.
